Wild Heaven Farm is pleased to announce the launch of our latest money-saving effort, a Soap CSA.
Similar to produce CSAs, you pay at the beginning of the year, which helps to empower the farmer to prepare for the upcoming season, and pick up your “share” of product each week/month. Additionally, for your lump-sum payment, you will receive a bonus of shopping credit with us (see below), to be spent incrementally over the remainder of the year, on soaps and skin care products. Our soap CSA customers will also receive first choice of each of our limited-edition seasonal fragrances.

- What is a "CSA"?
- CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. It is a way for the public to enter into a relationship with a farm and to receive a share of the harvest. By making a financial commitment to a farm (usually the whole season), people become "members" (or "shareholders," or "subscribers") of the CSA. Whether you're buying a share of vegetables, meat or soap, you pay all at once before the season begins and pick up product regularly throughout the year.
- What does it mean to be a member?
- As a member, you will:
- save money on your soap and skin care products,
- be able to pick up products whenever you want them,
- get first dibs on our wide variety of seasonal fragrances,
- support a local, family-owned, cruelty-free, fair trade business
- We offer a variety of share sizes to fit any size need. Click here to review our shares.
- Is the CSA cheaper than buying a la carte?
- Absolutely. Remember, the larger your share, the more free product it earns you.
- When is the CSA season?
- CSA shares can be picked up at farmers markets and local events from the beginning of April until Thanksgiving.
- When do I sign up?
- CSA sign-up runs January 1st through March 31st.
- How will I keep track of my remaining share credit?
- At your first pick-up, you'll receive a card to carry with you what we'll both initial at each pick-up. Be sure to keep it safe. The card is the primary means of tracking your credit spending and cannot be replaced if lost.
- What and where are the pick-up sites?
- Check our calendar for our farmers market and local event schedule. We are working hard to schedule regular appearances at the major Richmond-area farmers markets.
- Am I restricted to one pick-up location?
- No, you are welcome to pick up your share at any market or event where you see us.
- Can I pick up more than once a week?
- Sorry, but to ensure that we have enough to go around, we must restrict members to one pick-up per calendar week.
- Do you deliver shares?
- No, sorry, we don’t have the capability to make that many deliveries.
- What if I can’t make it to pick up my soaps one week?
- Unlike produce and meat CSA's, you are not required to make weekly pick-ups. Pick up soaps and skin care products whenever you want or need more. Just bear in mind that any portion of a share not used by Thanksgiving is forfeit.
- What if I'm at the farmers market, but you're not?
- We'll always do out best to be where we say we're going to be, but sometimes things happen. Look for us at that market on our next scheduled date. If no other date is available or will work for you, email us to make alternate arrangements.
- Can I use my share credit for lotion, scrub, etc or just soap?
- Your share credit is good for any product we make. (Only soap is available at Williamsburg Farmers Market. Email us if you'd like to pick up other products.)
- Can I buy a half-share/Can I become a member for part of the season?
- No, we only take members for the full season. However, you are welcome to find someone to split your share with you.
- How do I sign up?
-
You can buy your share on-line. You'll receive an email with your CSA agreement to sign and mail back (or drop off if you'll be seeing us in person).
Or if you would prefer to print your application and mail a check, you can access it here.
CSA pick-ups cannot begin until your payment and agreement are received.
- Can I use my credit card to pay?
- Yes, you can pay online using your credit card or PayPal. You can also pay by mailing us a check.
- What if I need to cancel, can I get a refund?
- We are unable to give refunds directly. If you are unhappy with our CSA or unable to receive it for any reason - you can find someone to take over your CSA share, as long as both parties notify us of the change.
- I'm a returning customer - do I get 10% off the cost of my share?
- Sorry, no. Your 10% Return Customer Discount only applies to a la carte purchases. Your CSA share already saves you 8-15% off.
- What if I don't use up my share by the end of the year?
- Any portion of a CSA share not used by Thanksgiving of the year it was purchased will be forfeit and not subject to any degree of refund. If you want to make arrangements to spend the remainder of your credit all at once at the end of the season, email us here.
- Do you require members to work at the farm or at the pick-up sites?
- No, we do not.
- Can we visit the farm?
- Sure, email us to schedule a field trip. You'll hear about the different kinds of goats there are and how they're used throughout the world, be taught to milk, and have the chance to get in with the goats and pet and feed them (you bring the groceries, anything fruit/veg/grain-based is fine). For adults and older kids, we can also do a soap-making demonstration. There is no set fee, rather we ask that you leave an honorarium commensurate with the size of your group and the length of your visit. (Attention, Girl Scout troop leaders, I happily accept partial payment in Thin Mints.)
- What about....?
